On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, Sahabat Insurance successfully held an exclusive workshop at our Head Office, focusing on the theme: “Study Case Claim Marine Cargo" with Sisfairy (Senior Surveyor, from PT. Asuka Bahari Nusantara)

The event was designed to enhance brokers’ understanding of marine cargo claim processes and risk mitigation strategies through interactive discussions and real-world case studies.
This collaborative forum served as a platform to exchange insights, strengthen professional competence, and build stronger synergy in delivering the best insurance services to clients.

Heavy rainfall causes flooding in Greater Jakarta

Disaster mitigation is a series of efforts to reduce disaster risk, both through physical development as well as awareness and capacity building to deal with disaster threats (Article 1 paragraph 6 PP No 21 of 2008 concerning the Implementation of Disaster Management).

So what to do if there is a flood?

Secure important objects and documents, such as house certificates, birth certificates and so on
Turn off the gas and electricity in your home before the flood comes, do not touch electrically charged equipment when you are standing on/in the water.
When you decide to evacuate your house, be aware of undercurrents, drains, sewers, puddles, and other places that are inundated with water.
Do not drive a car in flooded areas. When the water starts to rise, ignore the car and get out. Immediately evacuate to higher ground.
Consider flood insurance for vehicles and homes due to flooding to avoid future losses.

Whistleblowing System

In order to support Good Corporate Governance, especially in the implementation of the Anti-Bribery Management System within the Company, Sahabat Insurance provides a channel for conveying information regarding indications/allegations of integrity deviations which can result in fraud, abuse, corruption, collusion, nepotism, gratuities, price inflation. or budget, bribery, money laundering, embezzlement, extortion, and other conflicts of interest that will/have been committed by employees or Company Business Partners.

Reporting of violations is addressed to the Whistleblowing Team and submitted in writing via the whistleblowing media as follows [email protected];

Whistle blowers can report indications/allegations of violations through the Whistleblowing System with the following terms and conditions:

Include valid evidence in the form of data, clear information on the occurrence of violations in connection with the indications/allegations of irregularities previously mentioned.
Reports are made in good faith and are not a complaint against a person, a particular company or slander.
The reporter must provide complete information about his identity to facilitate communication including full name, telephone number or email address where he can be contacted.

Parking: Shift to “P” Or Pull the Handbrake First?

The parking brake is essential to your safety and those around you. If you have an automatic gearbox, apply the handbrake first, then put it in P. This ensures that the car’s weight isn’t resting on the parking pawl. If you don’t use the handbrake, you’ll be putting constant pressure on the parking pawl and transmission components which will eventually fail, leading to costly repairs.

Your car’s brakes are controlled by something called a parking pawl.The parking pawl locks the transmission's output shaft to the transmission casing by engaging a pawl (a pin) that engages in a notched wheel on the shaft, stopping it (and thus the driven wheels) from rotating.When you shift into “P” first, the weight of the car rests on that tiny metal bit we call the parking pawl. That’s not great. When you do this, you will hear the unpleasant “clunk” when shifting out of “P” later.

If you have an automatic transmission, apply the handbrake first, then put it in P. Shifting to 'P' before pulling the handbrake is how you damage your automatic transmission.

What should you do if you hit a wall with your car?

As soon as you've made sure anyone involved is safe and you've called the police, take photos of the incident, including your car and the wall. Note the location, date, time, and any other factors. If you hit someone else's wall and caused damage, contact the owner and give them your car insurance information.
Call your insurance as soon as possible, and prepare your proof of Insurance - Policy or copy.
