Benefits of Travel Insurance you need to know

Travel insurance is one type of insurance that provides protection while we travel both domestically and abroad. So you can still travel in peace. Especially in an uncertain situation like today. What if when you bought tickets in advance but you got sick, or even worse, the trip had to be canceled for one reason or another at the destination.

Some people may still be unfamiliar with travel insurance, but some countries in the world have even required travelers or newcomers to have travel insurance, for example, countries in Europe and America. What are the benefits of travel insurance?

Basically travel insurance covers for trip cancellation and interruption; emergency medical care; personal accident and it compensates the traveller for additional expenses that may occur due to these losses.  However, please note that there are things that are not covered by travel insurance, for example if the destination country is not safe either due to natural disasters, war or terrorism. So, in order to apply for/have this travel insurance, in general, there are several conditions that you must fulfill:

  • Photocopy/scan of ID card
  • Insurance application form
  • Photocopy of passport (for overseas travel)
  • Age limit
For you who like traveling you must have travel insurance every time you go traveling.Prepare travel insurance. Remember, read carefully the policy, terms and conditions. (Source: https://sikapiuangmu.ojk.go.id/FrontEnd/CMS/Article/20551)

Safety Tips For Walking In The Rain

1. Get an Umbrella
An umbrella is useful for a variety of reasons while walking in the rain, not only will it naturally help to keep you dry, but it will also keep water out of your eyes. When water impairs your ability to see (especially if you wear glasses!), you’re more at risk of an accident. What’s more, holding an umbrella also improves your visibility, helping the drivers of surrounding vehicles to see you.

2. Wear Bright Colors
A brightly colored raincoat will serve you well when walking in the rain. Much like the umbrella (which should also be bright if possible), this utilitarian item will both keep you dry and aid in other motorists’ ability to see you. The brighter the color, the better. When it’s raining out, visibility is significantly impaired, especially for elderly drivers, but bold colors stand out and help you avoid a pedestrian accident.

3. Choose Non-Slip Shoes
Non-slip shoes (and preferably waterproof ones for your comfort) can help you get across streets safely. When streets and sidewalks are wet, slip and fall accidents may be more likely. While a slip on a sidewalk can lead to injuries, a slip in the middle of the road can be catastrophic.

4. Follow Traffic Laws
Rain or shine, you should always follow pedestrian rules of the road.

5. Using a sidewalk whenever possible
Crossing at a crosswalk when the signal indicates that it’s okay to do so
Yielding to vehicles when not crossing at a designated crossing area
Not exiting the sidewalk into the path of traffic
6. Resist Distractions
Finally, remember to put away distracting items when walking in rain. Turn off the music and tuck your cell phone safely into your pocket. When it’s raining out, approaching vehicles can be harder to both see and hear, and extra attention can be key to your safety.

Omicron, symptoms and how to deal with it

Based on the results of the study, the most common characteristics that indicate a person is infected with the omicron variant of the Covid-19 infection are as follows:

1. Sore throat but no cough
A sore throat accompanied by a cough is one of the common symptoms when someone is declared infected with the Covid-19 virus.

But in the Omicron variant, the sore throat tends to be itchy, dry, even without coughing.

2. Muscle and joint pain
Reporting from the Gavi.org page, the first reports of Omicron symptoms in South Africa showed a reaction to lower back pain.

In addition, this pain also continues to spread to several other areas such as joints, and muscle pain (myalgia).

3. Fatigue
Another symptom of Omicron is fatigue so that the body becomes weak and even easily feels tired even though it is not strenuous activity.

These signs of fatigue are constant because they are usually felt by other variants of Covid-19 sufferers.

4. Headache
A painful headache accompanied by a fever like the flu is an inflammatory reaction that the body is fighting a virus.

In Omicron symptoms, this headache feels throbbing, pressured, and sometimes accompanied by a stabbing feeling of mild to severe intensity.

5. Don't lose your sense of smell
In the previous Covid-19 variant, infected patients will experience impaired sense of smell and taste.

But for the Omicron variant, it's the opposite. Patients do not lose their sense of smell and taste so they still feel normal as usual.
